PC-Crash is a state-of-the-art, physics-based, computer simulation program. It is used as an analysis tool in the evaluation of vehicle dynamics and all-types of vehicular collisions, including those involving pedestrians. Simple engineering-based animations can be created from within PC-Crash, or detailed simulation data can be exported from PC-Crash for use in 3D animation software. Such software can then used to create highly accurate and realistic, to-scale, 3D engineering-based computer animations. An engineering-based computer animation is based upon an engineering analysis and is simply a demonstration of the results of that analysis. DJS Associates, Inc., a full-service forensic consulting, technology and animations firm, announces its 50th anniversary in business. The Firm was established in the early 1960s. The Forensic aspect of the firm was established by happenstance when David J. Schorr, a Professor of Civil Engineering at Villanova University, was asked by an attorney to apply his knowledge to recreate the facts surrounding an automobile accident and become the attorney’s expert. From this single event, Schorr saw the business potential in applying civil engineering principles including the laws of physics in a unique manner and became a pioneer in the field of forensic engineering. Town Engineers founded by Schorr in 1961, was restructured as Forensic Engineering Services and later renamed DJS Associates, Inc.

Tom Griffiths, Ed.D, Aquatics Safety Expert with DJS Associates, Inc. recently taught all three levels of Aquatic Risk Management for the National Aquatic Management school sponsored by the National Parks and Recreation Association. Dr. Griffiths also taught “Dr. Tom’s Toolbox” focusing on achieving excellence among aquatic professionals. In April, Dr. Griffith will be the plenary speaker for the National Drowning Prevention Alliance in Colorado Springs, CO. The topic to be presented is the “Supervision Myth.” This seminar, along with the “Note and Float” program will also be presented in Viet Nam at the World Drowning Congress.
