When it comes to creating compelling, scientifically-based Computer-Generated Images (CGI), V-Ray from ChaosGroup is now the render engine of choice utilized by DJS Associates’ 3D Engineering Animation Department. V-Ray is a physics based texturing and rendering platform used by many top studios around the world. In fact, V-Ray received an award at the 2017 Academy Awards from the Academy’s Scientific and Technical Awards Committee for its role in bringing realistic CGI to the big screen.
Physically Based Rendering, also known as PBR, is a method of shading and rendering that accurately mimics the way light interacts with a surface. Using techniques such as multiple-pass and deep compositing, V-Ray’s versatility and flexibility means the final appearance of an animation can be easily and quickly fine-tuned without returning to the 3D Animation Program. V-Ray also comes with several tools that allow DJS Engineers to efficiently create animations with very high levels of realism and great production value.
