According to the federal government, per miles traveled in 2007, the number of deaths on motorcycles was about 37 times the number in cars.  Forty-two percent of 2-vehicle fatal motorcycle crashes involved a vehicle turning while the motorcycle was going straight, passing or overtaking the vehicle.
