From data collection and documentation, through investigation, analysis and expert testimony, our forensic engineers utilize state-of-the-art technology including 3D laser scanning; 3D computer engineering animation and modeling; photogrammetry; computer reverse projection photogrammetry; event data recorder (EDR) download and analysis, as well as computerized collision reconstruction and simulation programs.

DJS Associates’ 24-hour emergency response team is available 7 days a week and has the expertise for proper scene documentation and evidence procurement.

Steven M. Schorr, PE President

Steven is a nationally recognized board-certified consultant in the areas of accident/collision reconstruction, highway safety and traffic engineering. Steven received his graduate degree in Civil Engineering from Northwestern University and his undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering from Villanova University.


He has testified as an expert in local, state and federal courts in numerous states. He has authored, lectured and taught courses across the United States and abroad on topics related to his expertise including collision reconstruction, computerized collision reconstruction and simulation programs, highway safety and demonstrative evidence, among other areas.

Bob Lynch, a Mechanical Engineer with DJS Associates, specializes in collision reconstruction with an emphasis on pedestrian collisions, nighttime visibility analysis, heavy vehicle reconstruction and Crash Data Retrieval (CDR).


Bob received his MS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Virginia and his BA in Physics and Mathematics from Franklin and Marshall College. Bob is a Professional Engineer (PE) and has testified on behalf of both the plaintiff and defense. Additionally, he has lectured to several organizations in the legal and insurance industry. Robert is a member of numerous professional societies including the National Association of Professional Engineers (NAPE), Pennsylvania Society of Professional Engineers (PSPE), Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE), National Association of Professional Accident Reconstruction Specialists (NAPARS) and National Society of Traffic Accident Reconstructionists and Investigators (NATARI).

Jim received his BSME from the University of Maryland where he graduated magna cum laude in the top 1% of all graduating BSMEs.


Jim’s experience ranges from inspecting collision sites and vehicles, to evaluating physical evidence resulting from a collision, ultimately reconstructing such things as vehicle speeds and dynamics, as well as timing of crash sequences. All types of collisions involving all types of motor vehicles, as well as pedestrians, are evaluated. Jim has significant expertise and proficiency in the utilization of state-of-the-art computer technology in the collection of field data, the analysis of photographs and vehicular damage, and the analysis and simulation of vehicle dynamics.

Justin P. Schorr, PH.D

Justin P. Schorr, Ph.D. received his Doctorate and Masters from The George Washington University (GWU) and attended Northwestern University for his undergraduate degree.


Presently, Justin is a post-doctoral researcher and adjunct professor at GWU teaching Sustainable Urban Dynamics and Intelligent Transportation Systems – as well as the programming portion of Engineering Computations. With DJS Associates, Justin provides engineering analysis to law firms, insurance companies and government entities for collision reconstruction, highway safety, traffic and transportation matters.
